Acclimation

The settling period after cigars are moved between environments, during which their internal moisture equalizes with the new storage. Two weeks is a common minimum; a month or more is safer after shipping.

Smoking a cigar that is still equalizing usually produces uneven burn and muted flavor, and it is the most common reason a well-reviewed cigar disappoints on first try.
