Dress Box
Culture & Collecting
Definition
A finished, decorated cigar box, typically covered in printed paper with a hinged lid and interior trim. The standard retail packaging for most premium cigars.
Why it matters
Dress boxes protect and present the cigars but hold them in separated layers, which is why cabinet packing is usually preferred for long-term aging.
In context
"The dress box was handsome, but he was after the cabinet packing."
