Foot

Definition
End that gets lit, where the filler is exposed in cross section on a standard parejo. Closed and shaggy feet are deliberate variations on the open foot.
Why it matters
Reading the foot tells you about bunch density and filler blend before you light, and an even, well-packed foot is the first sign of a careful roll.
In context
"You can see three distinct leaves at the foot, so it is a three-leaf bunch."
