Short Filler

AnatomyEnglish
Definition
Chopped or scrap tobacco used as filler, often the trimmings left over from cutting long-filler cigars. Also called picadura, it burns faster and hotter than whole leaf and is typical of machine-made cigars and inexpensive bundles.
Why it matters
Short filler is not automatically bad, but it burns quicker, draws less evenly, and tends to loosen and flake as the cigar shortens.
In context
"It is short filler in a homogenized binder, which is why it costs two dollars."
