Double Claro (Candela)

A green wrapper, also called candela or AMS for American Market Selection, produced by harvesting early and curing fast with heat so chlorophyll is locked in rather than broken down. The barn cycle takes days rather than weeks.

Candela dominated the United States market into the 1960s and survives as a niche style; it tastes grassy and sweet and is nearly impossible to fake with ordinary curing.
