Plug

ConstructionEnglish
Definition
A localized blockage in the filler that stops or badly restricts draw. Common causes are a folded leaf, a piece of stem left in the tripa, or over-compression during bunching or pressing.
Why it matters
A plug generally cannot be fixed once the cigar is lit, though a draw tool or a deeper cut will sometimes clear a shallow one near the head.
In context
"Plugged solid an inch in - that one is going back to the shop."
