Smoking Cadence

Smoking & Technique
Definition
The rhythm of puffing, usually described as one draw every thirty to sixty seconds. Faster puffing raises coal temperature; slower puffing risks the cigar going out.
Why it matters
Cadence is the smoker's main lever over combustion temperature, and most bitterness that gets blamed on a blend is really the result of smoking too fast.
In context
"Slow the cadence when the smoke starts turning sharp."
